Dear colleagues,
First of all, best (belated) wishes for 2026! We look back on a year where the TELSTAR-2 trial had a great start. As you can see below on the inclusion diagram, we are on the right track. Once again thank you for your continuous efforts!
Important reminders
· The next investigator meeting is scheduled on Wednesday 11th of February at 4PM. Please let us know if there are any specific questions or cases you would like to see addressed or in case you have not received a Teams invite.
· Please be aware of timely getting deferred consent (< 3 days after randomization). Please document each conversation about the trial and each attempt to get deferred consent in the patient file. Please also register completion of deferred consent in ReseachManager.
· In case a patient deceased prior to getting deferred consent, completion of the CRF is still required. The patient’s representative should be informed about the study treatment the patient may have received and use of the collected data. Strictly speaking, a signature is no longer required if the patient has passed away.
· Spread the word about the TELSTAR-2 newsflash! We are happy to distribute this newsflash to a wider audience. We kindly request you to inform Puck Lange about email addresses of interested colleagues.
· In- and exclusion criteria, study procedures and more can be found on the website
· In case of complicated cases, direct discussion with the TELSTAR-2 team and fellow colleagues is possible via the Doctolib/Siilo group chats. If you are not yet in the designated group, please contact Puck Lange (NL sites) or Sarah Caroyer (BE sites).
Current status
- 17 centres are actively screening patients.
- 29 patients have been included.
We are looking forward to seeing you virtually in two weeks. Thank you for your involvement and enthusiasm for the trial. Let’s keep up the good work in the upcoming year.
